I feel very passionately about people enjoying the job they do. Nothing is ever perfect but I believe every young person should be able to find a career that ticks most of the boxes.

Over the decades of working in the recruitment space, I have seen so many young students or Uni grads come into Kinetic looking for work with absolutely no idea what they want to do and often with a mountain of varsity debt. As a professional working in the career coaching and employment space, I felt that I needed to address what I saw as a big issue.

Over an eight-month period, I spent time talking with a large number of school Career Advisors and I realised that there was a gap in the market for youth career coaching. I felt that with the right people and service offering I could create a programme to support schools, parents, and most importantly these young professionals.

It took a year of working with skilled and specialised professionals to develop an innovative programme to assist young people with career direction based on personality, science, ability, and interests. And so, Swivel Careers for Students was created.

Swivel Careers provides one-on-one coaching and group programmes where students work together in a workshop capacity. The group workshops complement existing career coaching in schools. Our holistic approach is fun, supportive, and empowers students to make the best career choices for them.

Our experienced coaches all love working with students and find it very rewarding, especially those who have absolutely no idea of their career path, which is the majority. Seeing students finish the programme having had that incredible “ah ha” moment they found by themselves by participating in the Swivel Career programme is hugely motivating for our coaches.

Swivel Careers is also able to offer work experience and in some cases apprenticeships and holiday jobs to those students that are super motivated. Working in schools nationally we are seeing outstanding talent first-hand.
